Edina's home 'tear downs' set record

Edina is about to set a record for homes being torn down and replaced with bigger houses. Through Oct. 30, Edina issued 85 building permits for new homes on the site of homes that are being torn down. That compares to 52 tear downs in 2011. The city is reviewing three or four more tear-down permit applications, said Cary Teague, Edina's Community Development Director.
